So what does “Walking Next to Me” even mean?? Well it’s a line from one of my favorite songs by Ben Rector.
(You can check it out here: Ben Rector – I Like You)
The full line is:
“Cause life is not the mountain tops, it’s the walking in between. And I like you walking next to me.”
I think it’s a perfect, romantic love song (or I guess like song) and this line really defines how I like to live my life. I love the incredible stuff (i.e. mountaintops) just as much as anyone, but what I really love is the simple things of life. Waking up to my wonderful husband making me coffee, sitting in the park chatting with my best friend, venting after a long day at work. All of it. I love it.
I think the best relationships we have are the ones in which two people just walk through life together. I am so blessed by the people placed in my life that I get to walk with. When you are walking, you’re moving forward, you’re growing, you’re being shaped by the people you choose to walk with. I get to walk with my incredible husband, my family, my friends, and most importantly, Jesus. I can’t wait to take you all on this journey with me. This wonderful, beautiful walk through life.
“And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day…” Genesis 3:8
Here are a few photos to help you get to know me a little better too. Thanks for stopping by!
This is me. On my wedding day, which really was the happiest day I could ever imagine.
This is my super incredible husband. Being married is awesome. Don’t believe what people are trying to say these days.
This is my best friend. She no longer lives in the same town as me. She actually lives almost 4 hours away. It’s a rough little situation but I feel like it’s grown our friendship even more. I guess the ol’ “absence makes the heart grow fonder” saying applies to friendships too!
And this is my beautiful sister. She’s graduating high school this year and joining the Army. I’m so excited, proud, and nervous all at once!
This is my friend Katy and I being all construction-y. We both work for general contractors, and so does my husband. Lucky for me I work in the office doing preconstruction, so I don’t get to wear awesome outfits like this every day!
That’s all for now. I hope you enjoyed the photo highlights. More to come I’m sure!
